Type Locality and Naming

North Zhejiang. The Zhangcun Fm was named by the Party of Regional Geological Survey, Zhejiang Province. Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in 1990 and the naming section is in Zhangcun, Fuyang City Zhejiang Province. Uppermost formation of the Shuangxiwu Gr.

Synonym: （张村组）


Lithology and Thickness

The Zhangcun Fm is the uppermost formation-level stratigraphic unit of Shuangxiwu Gr. It is mainly composed of grey-purple, grey-green and grey-white schistose rhyolitic or dacitic breccia crystallo-clastic and vitroclastic welded tuff, sandwiched with tuffaceous sandstone, tuffite and sericite quartz phyllite and alunitized secondary quartzite. The formation 847 m thick

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It is in conformable contact with the underlying Yanshan Fm.

Upper contact

The top is unconformably covered by the Luojiamen Fm.
